Farming Uruguay gave me a great independent insight into the
opportunities of investing into agriculture in Uruguay. Daniel
Conforte has a huge knowledge of the country. As well as his
obvious qualifications and experience of agriculture, he has
numerous helpful and influential contacts, including the heads of
research centres and the MD of SUL (sheep board). We were
especially fortunate to meet a leading economist who gave us an
independent summary of Uruguay's economic past and present, as
well as his predictions of the future.
We looked around a large variety of farms of all nature, where we
spoke to individual farmers who gave us their views on methods of
farming. Some more traditional and others very progressive - all
very interesting and willing to share their knowledge.
It would be impossible to try and achieve a trip of this nature
without Daniel as an independent guide, interpreter, and adviser.
I recommend it to anyone who is thinking of investing into
agriculture in this country as this five day tour gave me an
exceptionally informative understanding of Uruguay.
